记住这个细节:chickweed has a single line of hairs that switches sides at each leaf pair——一个值得养成习惯的辨识动作。 Chickweed's look-alike is scarlet pimpernel (toxic): square stems, orange or blue flowers, no line of hairs. Chickweed has round stems with a single line of hairs. Lamb's quarters can be mistaken for young nightshade seedlings (toxic): lamb's quarters has a white mealy coating on its new leaves; nightshade doesn't.
问题在于:只在干净的水域采收,因为水里有什么,香蒲就留下什么,并且avoid confusing young shoots with iris leaves (iris is toxic and grows in similar spots) — confirm last year's brown seed heads on the same stand before you pick。
5. 野蒜 / ramps(wild garlic / ramps)
一道春天的美味,带着一个不会认错的标志:it smells like onion or garlic。 If a plant looks like ramps but has no onion smell, walk away — lily of the valley and false hellebore (deadly — pleated, ribbed leaves, no smell) resemble ramps and are toxic. Smell each leaf separately and wash your hands between — scent on your fingers can fool you.
